Annette also answers to Anna (freedom name)!
Anna has been practicing Massage Therapy for 20+ years, how time flies! She deeply enjoys solving problems and helping others move toward healing through multiple modalities. Anna studied Massage Therapy at McKay School of Massage & Hydrotherapy in Saskatoon, SK from 2000-2002.
Over the years, Anna has taken many workshops and courses to complement her training, including Stamina Protocol (Sheradha Therapy Actuating Muscle Into Natural Alignment). Stamina is a form of orthopedic massage that includes resistance techniques performed during the massage treatment to bilaterally align 38 muscles in the body to assist in addressing the root cause of the musculoskeletal dysfunction.
It is extremely useful for acute injuries, repetitive use injuries, as well as chronic compensation patterns. Although Anna uses DeepTissue Massage techniques when clients prefer, Stamina does not require deep pressure to work.
To complement massage treatments, Anna enjoys incorporating Essential Oils and, at times, Reiki, according to client preference.
Anna went back to school and studied Holistic Nutrition in 2017-2018 which helped form a more complete picture of health and wellness through the mind/body connection and nutrition. She’s a self-proclaimed nutrition geek and absolutely loves creating nutritious & beautiful gourmet snacks and desserts for her family and for sale at local Farmers Markets.
When not working, Anna can be found spending time with family and friends or volunteering for various organizations. Anna is very blessed to have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 cutie-patootie grandsons!
She also enjoys spending time in nature, foraging and hiking, meditating, dancing, and many other mind/body/spirit connecting practices.
Our Yoga Instructors
Hailey Erickson
YOGA TEACHER
Teaching: Candlelight Yin Yoga, Inspired Flow Yoga. Meditation Circles & Cocoa ceremonies.
Yoga to me, means presently living in union with all of creation. I first discovered yoga in May of 2023 when I reconnected with an old friend who was well into her practice at the time. She explained how she was going to Rishikesh, India to study Akhanda yoga in September. I decided a month before she left to join her, and the trip changed my life. India helped me discover what my life’s true purpose is - to help heal people and their relationship to spirituality. My dream is to move back to India and build my own spiritual retreat center and eventually write a book about my crazy experiences since awakening.
In my Akhanda yoga classes you can always expect asana (movement), mantra (chanting/sound), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and yogic wisdom (philosophy). Come to my classes to experience a great balance of workout and spiritual healing!
Annika Langille
Teaching: Beginner Traditional Yoga, Akhanda Yoga & Moving Meditation Yoga
My first memory of yoga was following a DVD with my Mom and attempting ujjayi breath at 3 years old. Little did I know that years later yoga would become such an integral part of who I am. Regardless of how I’m feeling, it grounds, uplifts and brings me to a natural state of peace.
With a desire to connect more with myself and explore the depths of yoga, I fully immersed in daily practice for a couple of years and then embarked on a life changing journey to India. I studied Akhanda yoga under Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu at the Akhanda Yoga Institute in Rishikish. Along with receiving an advanced 500HR RYT certification, I was gifted the spiritual name, Jaya Jot, meaning “light of victory”. It had such a profound impact that I decided to devote myself to learning, sharing and guiding others in this ancient practice. My classes offer a balance of asana, meditation, pranayama, mantra and philosophy.
I am also a classically trained violinist and working towards a degree in health science. My joy comes from helping others, exploring nature and travelling. I am a self proclaimed holistic health geek.
Sandy Szemiot
Teaching: Laughter yoga, Gratitude circles, Vision board creation & Yoga Nidra
Nice to meet you! My name is Sandy Szemiot and I am a Yoga Instructor, Educational Support Worker and lover of learning and growing! I do not know if I found yoga or yoga found me. I have hit several different barriers in my lifetime and have continued to persevere with the support of yoga and the space it provides me. Due to this, I took the lunge (yes, a lunge haha) to become a certified instructor and create that safe space for others! I travelled to Mexico in 2022 and became a 200-hour certified yoga instructor on a beautiful island. In April of 2023, I became certified in trauma informed yoga and in May 2024, Yoga Nidra. I have several different trainings in different areas of expertise as I wear many different hats.I grew up in Ontario but moved to Yellowknife, NT after I completed my post-secondary education. I specialized in opening and running programs for children and families that were in crisis and required support. I have continued to work in the human service industry for over 15 years due to my love for helping others, making a positive difference and building social connection! I believe and know that Yoga is for everyone! There is a modification or adjustment that can be made, I promise! I encourage my students to do what feels right for them! This is your time and your body. When I am not working, you can find me going on adventures with my fiancé and cat, finding projects to complete, socializing with people who fill my bucket and embracing nature!
I cannot wait to see you on the mat being your authentic self!
